It has been forever!!!

I am so sorry Divas! It has been a crazy 3 months! For those who don't know I GOT MARRIED :) and my husband had to move 400 miles away to follow his dream. So it's been pretty crazy but I hope I will be able to share all the fun makeup tips I can for the holiday season! So get ready because Mary Kay had some fantastic new things out for the holidays, such as the Limited Edition At Play product I have on here!

With the eye trio I have the gold all over, the green on my lid and the black in the corner crease. I love how shimmery these colors are. They are just bold enough with out being too much! And the lip is a little bit of all 3 of the lip trio just to have some fun! Best part about them.... They are only $10! That means this look is only $20 total ($35 if you include the Ultimate Mascara) not too bad for a great holiday stocking stuffer! :)

Glad to be back Divas!

It's time to play "on the horizon" in my "tuxedo"!

I just love the play on words! Lol Anyway... This look I have to thank my fabulous consultant Heather for. I was going to try mixing these 2 in more of a dramatic way when he told me she did this so please give her all the credit! :)

First, I have to say how happy I am to have a good pink again! I was using some of the blush colors before but I love this one! The first thing I did was put the white from Tuxedo all over my eye, lashes to brow. Also lined the bottom, inside corner too. Then I used the pink from On the Horizon all over my eyelid and into the crease. I really wanted the pink to stand out more. Then I used the grey from Tuxedo for the accent. I was going to do the black but I think that would have been very dramatic and it was starting out as a day look. If I was to go out later I would add the black for more diva-ness! Of course I used my favorite Ultimate Mascara to finish it off. This whole eye look is a whole $35! love it!

So what do you think? If pink & black a look for you?

Let me know! And like always, stay beautiful divas!

The Beautiful Bride!

Two weeks ago I got the pleasure of being the makeup artist for my amazing friend, Kaitlyn, on her special day. Her look I actually feel in love with when Mary Kay posted it! See we have global makeup artist that are always sharing new looks for us and thank God because this was perfect for her wedding look. Here are a few pictures of her.

There are more pictures on their amazing photographers website Enchanted Images

Now for her look you can see step by step details of how- Bridal Look

I did do one thing different and that was her lips. Since we have this fabulous new limited edition Gloss Lip Stain I knew we had to use it for the wedding. I mean what bride wants to keep applying her lips all day long? I think the only time we really had to reapply her lips, and it was more just a touch up, was right before she walked down the aisle. (Which was around 5p and I did her makeup that morning at 11am) Not too shabby if I do say so myself!

And the one thing that I think was the best decision ever was using the Finishing Spray!!! OMG that stuff is amazing! I think I forgot to mention that it was like 90-100 degrees that day in Sacramento and it was outside. So made sure that her makeup would not move but didn't want it to not look natural. I think she looked perfect all night long!

So congratulations to the new Mr. & Mrs. Marsh!!! Excited for what the future has in store for you!

It's time to play! Look #1

I am having way too much fun with this new MK At Play line! So probably most of the new looks I do for awhile will be all with the new line. I mean why not, everything is only $10! So today I decided to mix two of the Baked Eye Trios- On the Horizon ($10) and Ocean View ($10).
My eyes look so flippin blue! I love it!

So first I used the highlight from On the Horizon (middle color) all over my eye, from lashes to brow. Then I took the mid tone from Ocean View (middle color) on the inside crease. Last, I use the accent color from On the Horizon (left side color) on the outside corner of my eye and along the bottom half of my lashes. Of course I finished the look with my favorite Ultimate Mascara ($15). So the total for the eyes would be $35! And there is still so much you can do with it,
To finish the look I used Bold Berry cheek color ($12) and the limited edition Glossy Lip Stain Enchanted Mauve ($16) for a grand total of $63. Not to shabby for for a fun summer color look.

So what do you think divas? Are you bold enough to play "On the Horizon" with an "Ocean View"?
Until next time, stay beautiful!

My new favorite every day look!

Again, I am so sorry I am not able to post as much as I would like these days. But there is a lot of amazing things happening in life and I just can't keep up! Lol but I can share the looks I am doing most of the time right? So I am all about quick, simple and beautiful all at the same time. It's nice to get all dolled up but it's even better to do it with out too much work, am I right divas?

This past weekend I went and did makeup for an amazing friend of mine for her wedding! Ill share those when the professional pictures come in. But the point is I live in LA and the wedding was in Sacramento. So my fiancé and I took a little business trip. Since this is a lovely 7 hour drive, I wanted to feel like me with my makeup but not take forever because we have places to go! Lol so here is my lovely "dash out the door" road trip look.
Isn't he cute? ;) lol

Anyway, it was simple, brought out my eyes yet doesn't look like I was trying right? Okay so for my eye all I did was us the new Mary Kay At Play Gold Mine eye crayon ($10) all over my eyelid. That crayon is amazing and so flipping fast and easy. Then of course my Ultimate Mascara ($15). I think I would die without that stuff. Just a little Desert Sun bronzer ($12) on my checks and our new limited edition Glossy Lip Stain Enchanted Mauve ($16). The lip stain is a dream because that color last pretty much all day. Maybe just a touch up after you eat but more because your lips feel dry. All together for a goal of $53 for this great everyday look. But of course since I am a Beauty Consultant I only pay $26.50 for it!
Don't worry Divas the color will be coming back very soon! Just need to slow down here while life takes me amazing places! Stay beautiful divas!

Pinterest look of the week! June 24th, 2013

Another great look I found on Pinterest. It lead me to this site
http://weheartit.com/entry/21480107/via/withloveaudra
which was just the picture so I'm not sure what they used to get the look
But here is the comparison!
Left- Pinterest
Right- me!

How I got this look:
Eyeshadows: Sweet cream as my highlighter, Azure is the teal, Cinnabar is the brown and Coal is the accent black on the corners. I'm way too in love with last years limited edition black gel eyeliner. For mascara, Lash Love black was great to define the lashes. I could have used Coal a bit more but not too bad for just looking at a picture!

Do you dare to use a little color, like teal, in your everyday makeup divas???

Lets talk lips!

I normally focus mainly on my eyes when it comes to my makeup. I love my eyes and I always want them to be the focus of attention. But lately I have been having crazy eye allergies so I had to take the contacts out and put the glasses on. And since I have to get really close to the mirror to do my makeup when I don't have my contacts in I figured its time to show off another great asset! LIPS!

So first to prepare my lips, we have to get them kissable soft!

This is one of my absolutely favorite products of all time! I don't leave home without my lip balm it is just that good. But what makes it better is the lip mask. I keep my lip mask just outside of my shower that way when I see it I can put it on. I alway think about my lip mask at the wrong time! Like in the car and you can feel that skin on your lips right? Anyway! I scrub the mask on before and then once I am in the shower I can rinse it off. So when I get out then I can put on my lip balm. Pretty simple.

Now what color to pick???

I love this little statistic that Mary Kay gave us about 4 months ago. MEN ARE DRAWN TO OUR LIPS! LETS MAKE THEM WANT THEM EVEN MORE! Lol I swear this is true because once I put my lipstick/lip gloss on my fiancĂ© wants to kiss me. So here are a few of my favorite lip mixtures.
Top right- Soft Blush lip liner and True Dimensions Wild About Pink lipstick
Bottom right- True Dimensions Mystic Plum lipstick and Fancy Nancy lip gloss
Bottom left- (my favorite!) Plum lip liner and True Dimensions Firecracker lipstick

So Divas, what do you prefer? Pink or red lips???

Pinterest look of the week June 15th

Again I absolutely love when my company makes my life easy. So if you read my bio, I am a bride to be! I haven't thought much about my hair and makeup but the other day Mary kay posted this picture...

I just thought that this was so perfect! I had to try it! So I did...

I love this look! It's soft enough but at the same time it makes my blue eyes POP! I did use a different lipstick color (One Woman Can) because it was close enough and I just love it. And I also used Lash Love Lengthening instead of Waterproof because, honestly, I really don't like the waterproof.
So this entire look is $111.50. Some people pay that much just to have their makeup done for their wedding! And of course since I am a consultant I only pay $55.75 so even better! Get your makeup done and keep it to use later for the same price? I'm in!
Here is the link to see how to apply it
Enjoy fellow Divas!

When is a lipstick more than a lipstick?

I absolutely love my job! I get to teach people how to take great care of their skin and get all dolled up by knowing how to do their own makeup too. But Tuesday night I realized I am even more than that. I have a few senior customers that love their Mary Kay and even love me. I have this one customer, Kimi. She lives in senior residence and she is always so happy to see me. One day I asked the front desk if her family comes by and they told me not that often. No wonder she loves when I come by to check on her.
On Monday she called me to let me know she was running low on something. First, she is always so excited that I know who she is just by hearing her voice. And since she is such a great customer of mine I even knew off the top of my head what she was low of and she got so excited. Tuesday night I took her product to her and when she saw me all she said was "I am so happy to see your beautiful face" and she gave me a big hug. Her smile was from ear to ear. she was just so happy to see me and talk. I am so much more than her beauty consultant. I am family!
As a Mary Kay beauty consultant I don't just make an impact on someone's skin, but on their heart too! I love my life! How about you???

Pinterest look July 5th 2013

Okay so this one was actually something that Mary away corporate put together. I didn't think that it would look all that good. I thought that eyeshadows Silver Satin, Gold Rush and Truffle where just an interesting mix of colors. So I figured I would try it to actually see. And of course, they know what they are doing so it looked beautiful! Very pretty, yet shimmery natural eye with a bold red lip! I think the lip is my favorite with our True Dimension Firecracker and Norishine Lip gloss Rock n Red! What do you guys think?

Primer, powder and finishing spray.... Oh my!!!

I don't know about all of you but I feel a little crazy when new cosmetic trends are coming out. First it was primer and I wasn't very happy but I love it now. Then we got finishing spray. Again confused about what it was meant for but after working all day and going to the gym afterwards and my makeup still looking fabulous enough to grab a bite to eat, I was good with it. Now we have translucent powder. First I was again confused, we have mineral foundations that work right? But now you don't have to match the color, you just use translucent. So I wanted to de-mystify all these cosmetic tools for you. Just an FYI all this info comes from our Mary Kay website and my own personal experience. :)

First, we have foundation primer!

"fill in imperfections and dries quickly to a matte finish to create the perfect canvas for a flawless foundation application that enhances foundation benefits and extends wear."
You honestly can feel a difference putting your foundation on with it and without it. It just goes on so smooth when I have primer on. I am someone with oily skin and I love that I don't feel like I am sweating my foundation off, especially in this lovely Southern Cali heat we are getting right now. If you can only pick one of these 3 products to use, it would be this one for me!

Second, we have translucent powder!

"Feels weightless, natural and velvety soft on skin. Controls unwanted shine all day. Provides a sheer, invisible finish on every skin tone to set foundation. All-new formula contains light-scattering properties designed to help soften the appearance of imperfections for a skin-perfecting finish."
When I put this on after my foundation every morning it feels like nothing. And for someone with oily skin again I don't have to touch up my makeup all throughout the day. The one thing I like best bout this over a colors finishing powder is that if I have a break out, sometimes the color powder will like attract it more so I will get a dark spot sometimes. With this it's all translucent so even if that spot attracts it I don't have a problem. :)

Last but not least we have our brand new Finishing Spray!

"When makeup meltdown is not an option, give it the staying power to last up to 16 hours. As a final step, helps makeup look freshly applied for hours. Also works as a refresher any time of the day. Dries quickly and washes off easily. For any skin type, even oily."
Now this one was a real mystery for me. My makeup was already staying on great! The real test for this one was my Zumba class. Sometimes I take Zumba in the evening but then of course someone will want to do something after. Well no worries here. When I know I am going to Zumba that evening, in the morning I will wear my finishing spray. After Zumba I am still good to go out! Here is even a picture after Zumba one evening and then I went out to dinner with my family. If you have many activities to do and you fear makeup meltdown, don't worry! Finishing spray will do the trick!

Hopefully that has help a few of you with the confusion that is primer, translucent powder and finishing spray! Have a fabulous day divas!

Pinterest look of the week- June 20th 2013

This is one picture that is just all over Pinterest. So I'm not sure who I to give credit to because it is FABULOUS but whoever you are you did a great job! In this picture the 1st and 3rd are the Pinterest look and 2nd and 4th are my eyes, MK style. This was before I had my amazing Lash Love Lengthening Mascara but not too bad comparing them to false lashes. I also take my look more up than out because of the shape of my eye.

Of course I started this look with Eye Primer because that always helps make the colors brighter. Highlight color is called Crystalline. The silver is called Sterling. Then I used both Black Pearl and Coal of it would fade and still have some great shimmer. For eyeliner I used our previous edition black gel eyeliner but our liquid eyeliner or pencil liner could be used for the same effect. In the picture I used our  Ultimate Mascara but I would highly recommend the Love Lash Lengthening for that false lash effect. Total for this look is only $53 (4 eyeshadows, eyeliner and mascara) Not too bad for fabulous!

My lips are going worldwide!!!

Every year Mary Kay does something called "Beauty that Counts". It's been either a few lipsticks, lip glosses or both. Part of the proceeds made by purchasing them go to our Mary Kay Ash Foundation which will then use that money to fund grants for domestic violence shelters. I love getting behind this every year. So this year I created a cute picture with the information and took pictures of my lips with the colors on. Little did I know that Mary Kay consultant WORLDWIDE were going to use and share this picture to promote it too! WOW! I think it is so great that we can do this. So here is the picture I created and the screen shots showing a few people sharing this picture. I especially love the one that is sharing on another language!

Feeling like a natural beauty

They always say "when you have great skin you don't need a lot of makeup." When I would hear this all I could think to myself was "great, I will be wearing all kinds of makeup my whole life!" I never felt that I had great skin. I had seen dermatologist and they told me the acne that I had was based internally. If I was stressed, you saw it on my skin. If I was hormonal, you saw it on my skin. So really I had just accepted it and tried to find the best way possible to have great makeup to look like I had flawless skin. The picture on the left is my before picture from 2012. I took it to show how great the a timewise foundation coverage was.
But when the new Timewise Repair set came out, I was a bit curious about it. I had been told that retinol started as an acne product when they saw the great anti-aging results they got. So I figured what the heck. Honestly I have nothing to lose and I can share with my customer how it feels and everything. Now I didn't change to the line completely. I love my oily 3-n-1 cleaner! So I just changed to the day and night creams. I started using both creams in December 2012. The picture on the right from March 2013. For the first time in a long time I was going to the gym in the morning without makeup on and it felt amazing! I love not having to worry about getting up and going anywhere and not being able to represent my brand the way I feel it should be!
Every women, wait, EVERY PERSON deserves to feel great in their own skin! Makeup is just the fun part. When someone else feels good in their skin, I feel great about my job! Do you feel good in your own skin???

Pinterest look of the week- June 5th 2013

I stumbled upon this beautiful look on Pinterest the other day.
http://www.preen.me/look/6485010
This makeup artist is great! Her eyes in the picture are really to die for! And I love that they have a how-to video with it!
It's a great thing that they show you all the product that they use too. But for everything for the eyes is about $120 for this look.
So I decided to recreate it, Mk style. Cut the price by half too!

As you can see I did not use false eyelashes. Although I love have bold lashes, I like having them be mine. I started my look with my Mk eye primer of course. The MK eyeshadow colors I used were White Lily for the highlight, Amber Blaze for the eyelid and Sienna for the crease. I also used an eyeshadow for the teal colored liner under called Azure. Black eyeliner for the top (liquid can be used but I like pencil or gel better) and I am in love with the new Lash Love Lengthening Mascara. So all of those products I used can be purchased for just about $63 plus tax! Not too bad... But what's best for me is as a consultant I pay 1/2 that! So 1/4 the price of the original look! Love it!

Hello world!

Hello! So this blogging things is new for me but I am ready to change the world, one person at a time! So why not start online. I wanted to start this blog because I use to be jealous of all my friends buying other products and having all kinds of crazy fun with their makeup, until I realized I can do exactly the same thing and at at least half the price! When people think Mary Kay, we think Pink Cadillacs and "more mature" ladies selling makeup door to door. REALLY? I am ready to change that point of view! The most important part is skin care and there are so many great products that help all kinds of skin. Then there is the make up. A girls favorite part! Many people don't know that amazingly beautiful and vibrant colors Mary Kay has to offer just because they have never taken the time to meet with their local beauty consultant. One of my favorite things to do if find a look and recreate it MK style. I cannot wait to start sharing all these fun tricks and tips and hopefully painting the world PINK one reader at a time!

Feel free to check out my FB page as well!
